Today in alot of cases, the ship is the destination. It was always that you sailed to ports and did excursions off the ship. Today cruises are much more casual. The newest ships like the NCL Epic and the RoyalCaribbean Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas have so much to do on board.
A lot of the cruise lines know have private islands like Disney’s Castaway Cay and Royal Caribbean’s island Labedee.
So not only is it about the destinations, now a lot of times it is about the ship!
